There's another A2A story, but not about a local guy...Dan Burger who in 2002 almost lost a leg after a devastating fall in the Inline Downhill World Championships in Italy. His left knee and leg were seriously damaged and complications after the accident almost caused the leg to be amputated. It is now two inches shorter than his right leg. He did A2A in four wheel hard shell rec boots and came in third overall and won his age group but under the name "Danny Dunne." He used the pseudonym to forego some of the stress of a comeback.
