Skaters,

The little FM transmitter I bought works great. Any portable FM radio is compatible. I guess I will bring it and a boom-box or two the next time we have good weather for a Friday Monument Loop Skate. I have some fun dance music to plug into it, but I may also be willing to plug your MP3/iPod into the transmitter if you want to show off your musical taste.

I am open to other suggestions for musical skating events, so let me know if you have some enthusiasm for this (and are willing to help lug boom-boxes while you skate).

I just blew $100 on a portable FM transmitter we can use the next time we try a musical "Disco" skate. Since one boom-box is not loud enough, we can tune a few separate boom-boxes into the transmitted frequency so all the skaters within a 200 foot radius will be able to roller-jam together. This will also be handy for use with a microphone if we have any announcements to deliver to the group. That could be very handy next May when we have a big group of visitors with us. If we ever publicize WAR by participating in local parades the transmitter would also be useful for our music and to call out different skating manuevers.

I ordered from www.wholehousefmtransmitter.com. Delivery should be within 5 days. Will let you know how well it works after I try it.

  Bill
