Jacques and Lou only need to increase their effort by about 40% to surpass Eddy.  I think you need a prescription for those kind of Wheaties.

These days I'd be pleased as punch just to finish the 52 miles in whatever time it took.  Maybe next year...

That's right.  Lincheng Xiu (WAR member currently in Indiana) will be going to his first A2A this year.  The DC contingent is even larger if you include former WAR member Lou Shuba in Colorado.

It looks like Mauro Guenci won't be there to challenge Eddy Matzger again this year.  Might be Jacques Lecuyer or Lou Shuba challenging Eddy this year.  They were only 47 minutes behind in 2004.  If they can skate on average a little better than 6mph faster than their 2004 pace, they will give Eddy a run for his money.
