You can fast forward to 3:15 in the video clip and you won't miss any of the race, the first part of the video is strictly about the Aston Martin.

You might be right Susan, the guy's name is Dirk Auer and he's from Germany. In Frankfurt he did skate down the wall of a 141 meter high tower block.

How does Dirk do it? It's simple: “Jack Link’s Beef Jerkys give me Power“

"Freilassing, 11.11.2004. On inline skates non-stop from Frankfurt to Munich in less than 24 hours. The inline skating world speed record at 307.4 km/h. In Frankfurt he skated straight down the wall of a 141-metre high tower block. The exceptional skater Dirk Auer redefines the concepts of speed and courage.

Who can ever forget the appearance of the 32-year-old extreme sportsman on the popular TV show, “Wetten, dass ...?“, when he rode down a roller coaster on his skates with a glass of water [huh?] in his hand? He carried off an even greater coup in May 2004, beating the Jet-Skating record with a speed of 172.4 km/h using Beothec Turbines on a narrow stretch of road.

How does he do it? Dirk Auer is, quite simply, an exceptional personality. And only the best is good enough for him, both in terms of technical performance and nutrition. That’s why Dirk Auer’s favourite snack between meals is Jack Link’s Beef Jerkys: “Whenever I feel peckish between meals or I need a quick energy boost when I’m doing sport I just grab a bag of Jack Link’s Beef Jerkys. Actually, it’s usually more than one bag...”

Fatty or sweet indulgences are out of the question for Dirk Auer. “With Jack Link’s Beef Jerkys I’m only eating the bit that counts – a full portion of protein.” No wonder then that this particular smoked dried beef has long been the essential companion of mountaineers and other extreme sportsmen.

The cult snack Jack Link’s Beef Jerkys is produced for the European market exclusively from the premium lean meat of South American beef cattle, spiced and smoked according to a special recipe. Its high protein content makes Beef Jerkys the perfect Power-Booster. As Dirk Auer says, “I really recommend Jack Link’s Beef Jerkys.”

Jack Link’s Beef Jerkys come in four different flavours: “Original”, “Peppered”, “Teriyaki” and “Sweet & Hot”. They can be found at Toom, Citti, Kaufhof, Karstadt, Globetrotter, soon at Real, and in many petrol stations across Germany."

Frankly the story sounds preposterous -- who in their right mind would believe that a German would skate down the rails of a roller coaster carrying a glass of water!

Turns out that truth of the matter is...

"Using specially designed inline skates Dirk Auer (world record holder for traveling 270 kph (168 mph) on inline skates) rode / skated this coaster track during it's opening ceremony while carrying a liter of beer."

Now a liter of beer, that I believe!

More on the roller coaster thing:

"With the help of an engineer, he designed a device to fasten his skates to the rails of a roller coaster. Then, supported by a safety crew, Auer skated a 520 meter (1,706 feet)-long coaster. "I was a human roller-coaster car," he says. "Nobody had ever come up with such an insane idea before!"" -- http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-127799720.html

and, of course, the usual helicopter-skating photos are there as well.
