GROUP-UP for HOTEL GUESTS is 30 minutes before skates leave the White  
House.  GROUP-UP is at or near the hotel ? we will announce the exact  
spot at the weekend.



SKATE TO THE WHITE HOUSE 15 minutes after group-up.  NSP will skate  
you to the White House - please be cautious and skate single file to  
avoid pile ups.



FRIDAY, MAY 9, 2008

7:00 pm HOTEL GROUP-UP

7:15 pm SKATE TO WHITE HOUSE

7:30 pm Monumental DC Skate Leaves White House

Leader:  Carl Ford

Level:  Beginner-Intermediate, 2 hours

Skate along the Potomac at sunset, visit the Capitol, the Smithsonian  
Air & Space Museum, the National Mall, and the Lincoln, Jefferson, and  
WWII monuments. Generally flat route.  Distance = 10 miles.



10:00 -1:00 National Beer Patrol presents the House of Brews



10:30 pm Pajama Skate Leaves Hotel

10:45 pm Pajama Skate Leaves White House

Level:  Beginner, 1-2 hours

Bring a nightie!  An old SkateDC Weekend Classic is back.  Skate  
close-in neighborhoods and experience some outdoor nightlife!   
Distance = 8 miles





SATURDAY, MAY 10, 2008

9:30 am HOTEL GROUP-UP

9:45 am SKATE TO WHITE HOUSE

10:00 am Scandal Skate Leaves White House

Leader: Bill English

Level:  Intermediate, 2-3 hours

Scenic skate at a medium pace across a bridge and through parts of the  
Anacostia River wetlands, culminating at one of Washington?s vast  
parks. There is a long and lovely hill to climb up and sail down, with  
the option of waiting at a picnic table at the bottom.  Distance = 12  
miles.



3:00 pm HOTEL GROUP-UP

3:15 pm  SKATE TO WHITE HOUSE

3:30 pm Train Skate Leaves White House

Leader:  Carl Ford

Level:  Intermediate-Advanced, 3 to 4 hours

Metro to White Flint and skate back along the North Bethesda Trail and  
down some cool hills. Purchase $3.00 metro card at the hotel lobby;  
bring sandals or flipflops to wear on the train. Distance = 18 miles.



5:30 pm HOTEL GROUP-UP

5:45 pm SKATE TO WHITE HOUSE

6:00 pm Late for the Skate Skate Leaves White House

Level:  Beginner-Intermediate, 1+ hours

For those who want to spend the afternoon in the museums but still  
want to cap the day off with a skate, we will lead a group from the  
White House to join up with the rest of the skate on the return trip.   
Distance = 10 miles.

SUNDAY, MAY 11, 2008

9:00 am HOTEL GROUP-UP

9:15 am SKATE TO WHITE HOUSE

9:30 am Breakfast Skate Leaves White House

Level:  Intermediate, 2 hours

Enjoy a mellow skate around the nearby neighborhoods of the District &  
Virginia, and get back in time to shower and check out. Distance = 12  
miles.

1:00 pm Can?t Get Enough Skate Leaves White House

Level:  Advanced, 3 hours

This will be a brisk and hilly skate through some parts of DC you may  
have missed  on the other skates.  Distance = 18-24 miles.
